ABOUT US

Delaware Valley Action! is a progressive organization committed to fostering positive change in our community. Rooted in the principles of justice, equity, and inclusivity, we strive to empower individuals and communities to actively engage in shaping a more just and compassionate society. Our organization is guided by a set of core values and specific policy principles that inspire our actions and drive our mission forward.

Our Values

Inclusivity and Diversity

We embrace the richness of diversity in all forms and believe that inclusivity is essential for a thriving democracy; we actively seek out and amplify voices from all backgrounds.

Transparency and Accountability

We are committed to transparency in our decision-making process and actions. Accountability is integral to building trust within our organization and with the communities we serve.

Peaceful Dialogue

We promote open and respectful dialogue as a means of fostering understanding and collaboration. We believe in the power of conversation to bridge divides and build common ground, even in the face of differing perspectives.

Compassion and Empathy

We approach our work with compassion and empathy, recognizing the dignity of every individual. We strive to create a society that cares for the well-being of all its members.

Our Policy Principles

Community Empowerment and Civic Responsibility

We empower individuals and their communities to be active participants in the democratic process. Through education, engagement, and grassroots organizing, we aim to inform and engage citizens and amplify the collective voice of the people to affect positive change.

Justice and Equality

We are dedicated to the pursuit of justice and equality for all, recognizing that these principles are the foundation of a fair and harmonious society. We strive to create a more level playing field by dismantling systematic barriers that create inequalities.

Social and Economic Justice

We advocate for policies that promote social and economic justice, such as recognizing that Abortion is Healthcare and supporting the belie that healthcare should be accessible to all. We address disparities and promote opportunities for all Americans to thrive, including advocating for comprehensive healthcare reform.

Human Rights

We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, advocating for an end to racism and police brutality. We affirm that refugees are welcome in our community, and we champion LGBTQ rights, recognizing and supporting the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their background, sexual orientation, gender identity, size, age, or disability.

Environmental Sustainability

We recognize the importance of environmental stewardship and the need for sustainable practices. We advocate for policies that address climate change and promote a healthy, sustainable future for all.

DVA!, formed after the November 2016 election, is comprised of Democrats, Republicans, Democratic Socialists, Republicans, Greens, and Independents. We all are alarmed by the Trump Administration's dangerous, illegal and immoral agenda, and energized in the fight for issues and leaders in line with our values.  We are very concerned about Republican efforts to gerrymander PA districts and suppress voting rights in our Commonwealth.

Our members come from PA, NJ and NY, the entire Delaware Valley region. We are of different social and political backgrounds, ethnicity, religion, age and sexual orientation.  We are not affiliated with any political party

We meet once a month to share drinks, snacks, invited guests (such as Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, our elected officials) at 315 Broad Street, Suite 3 in downtown Milford. The group also has been marching (for Women, Science, the Environment) and raising funds to help local refugees enrich their lives.
