The next local election is in November 2023

Qualifications

  • The candidate must be a registered voter in the county or municipality

  • and have lived here for one year

5 Steps to a Successful Candidacy

Step 1: Let the Pike County Democratic Committee know you're interested. Reach out to the Committee here so they can assist you with the technicalities and strategy.

 

Step 2: Collect signatures using the NOMINATION PETITION to put your name on the ballot.

*County-wide offices and Magisterial District Judges require 100 signatures. 

 

*Township / Borough offices and School boards require 10 signatures.

*Follow strict rules for collecting signatures.  Your opponent may challenge each signature in court.

 

Step 3: File NOMINATION PAPERS with the Elections Office.  Along with Petitions, you must file a Statement of Financial Interest.

 

Step 4: Get as many supporters to vote for you at the Primary.  If you get more votes than your Democratic opponent(s) your name will be on the November Ballot.

 

Step 5: Get as many supporters to vote for you at the General election in November.
