DVA! Monthly Get-Together - Wednesday July 8th from 6-7:30 pm at the DVA! Community Engagement Center — 315 Broad Street in Milford, PA. We will be joined by Dr. Norma Bowe.
“Love is Resistance: How to Support Our Neighbors in these Troubling Times"
Dr. Norma Bowe will give an overview of all things recently happening at the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark and talk about her own experiences. Norma has degrees in Nursing and Community Health, Health Administration and a Ph.D. in Community Health Policy. She is tenured faculty in the College of Health Professions and Human Services at Kean University in Union N.J. Twelve years ago she started a community service and activist group called “Be the Change.” She has organized community service projects across the country; addressing issues of social justice, food justice and human rights. This is sure to be an informative and interesting presentation. DVA!’s monthly get-togethers are always a great place to meet like minded thinkers. Bring a friend, have a drink and some snacks……always a positive evening.

In 2026 we face an existential election for the future of democracy. We will focus on issues of concern to residents of Pike County, PA and on electing progressives in line with our values to local, state and national positions.
In addition, all of the candidates endorsed by DVA! won their positions in the 2026 Primary Election--the wave is coming. We hope you will consider running for a local position in 2027.
Get involved with DVA! Attend our monthly Get-Togethers (generally 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6-7:30 pm) at the new DVA! Community Engagement Center at 315 Broad Street in Milford. Visit our Facebook Page, subscribe to our weekly newsletter (below). Donate. Volunteer in vote-by-mail voter registrations and campaign activities. Fill out our volunteer application to get started.
Community Engagement Center: We have a year-round space in downtown Milford for community activities. We have a Free Store for early parenting supplies (diapers, wipes, etc.). A number of clubs (youth group, art, book, mahjong, knitting/crochet, drum circle, chess, ukulele, etc) on weekdays. See the Community Center page link at the bottom of this page for a description of the Center and how you can help. Click here for a local TV story about the DVA! Center. In addition to the clubs' schedule, the Center is currently open for drop-in Friday 12:30-3 pm.
